We offer support in a variety of ways; such as training, professional qualifications, apprenticeships and more. We want to help you succeed in your career aspirations, so therefore provide the tools to do so.
We have a blended approach to learning and offer a wide range of both face-to-face training and e-learning modules; making learning flexible and easily accessible to our colleagues. Our programme of learning is developed each year, ensuring we are tailoring learning opportunities to meet the changing needs of the business.
We support the professional development of our colleagues through providing the time and financial support to complete relevant external qualifications. All colleagues are able to apply for a qualification that will help them to improve the skills and knowledge need for their current role, or to help prepare them for future progression.
We provide a number of apprenticeship opportunities for colleagues at all levels of the business. Apprenticeships are a key part of our Growing Greatness offer for our Apprentices and Graduates, but they are not just beneficial for colleagues starting out in their career with us, they help experienced colleagues to gain recognition for the skills they have and the role they do. Did you know we can even support Apprenticeship completion to Masters level?
We are lucky to have some amazing colleagues, with a wealth of knowledge, who are passionate about passing on this expertise to others through our Training Champion programmes. We help these colleagues to achieve this through giving them the skills, tools and opportunities to successfully train and support others.
We truly place our internal and external customers at the heart of what we do; as members of the Institute of Customer Service we provide all colleagues with the opportunity to gain accredited customer service qualifications.
We believe it is important for all our leaders and colleagues to come together to hear key messages, understand the vision of the company and to be able to share their feedback directly contribute to action plans, projects and other key initiatives and get to know each other better. To support this we run a range of conferences, away days and consultative roadshows, courses and qualifications.
We invest in our leaders, providing bespoke training to ensure they have the skills to develop and support their teams. Our 12-18 month leadership development programme is tailored to the needs of our business, and provides a great basis for Managers at all levels to continually develop the skills and knowledge needed to be a positive role model and effective leader.
At Great Places we spend more than £1,400 per colleague every year on training to help our colleagues attain their goals.
