Over in Sheffield, we work closely with the Sheffield Mind Health Engagement Project. This local arm of the mental health charity, Mind, supports individuals living with Severe Mental Illness to access annual health checks, vaccinations and screening programmes.
Keeping on top of appointments and preventative healthcare can be difficult for a lot of us, but even more so when living with severe mental illness. Their professionals can offer support with:
- Booking appointments,
- Making reminders,
- Discussing health-related worries,
- Planning travel to appointments and accompanying you on them where necessary.
- Providing check-ins with you post-appointment
- Liaise with GP practices
As well as this, they offer practical support to those living with Severe Mental Illness who may be experiencing financial difficulties. They can help you with accessing advice and local services relating to:
- Benefits
- Housing
- Debt
- Energy costs
- Food support
