Recently, Alison Dean, Chief Executive Officer, and Matt Foreman, Chief Customer Officer, visited a number of neighbourhoods and schemes across the Central region.
Royle Road, Rochdale
Alison’s first stop was Royle Road in Rochdale, where she was joined by Masood, Area Services Manager, and Anisha, Neighbourhood Services Manager.
They toured the mixed-tenure development, which includes homes for social rent, shared ownership and outright sale. Alison also visited the newest part of the scheme, featuring 24 two-bedroom apartments for social rent, which marks the final phase of a five-year development programme.
During the visit, Alison viewed one of the new apartments and was impressed by the quality of the homes and communal areas.
Leah Gardens
Meanwhile, Matt visited Leah Gardens with Tsitsi, Neighbourhood Services Manager, to take a look around the scheme and discuss ways to further enhance the environment for customers.
The visit provided a valuable opportunity to review the neighbourhood and consider future improvements that will support customers and help maintain a welcoming place to live.
Kemp Heaton, Bury
Alison and Matt then visited Kemp Heaton Avenue in Bury to see our newest development of 43 homes.
The scheme includes supported accommodation for adults, alongside a mix of one and two-bedroom homes for social rent. The new homes are expected to be available from autumn 2026 and will provide much-needed affordable housing in the area.
Ellen Court, Bury
Next, Alison and Matt visited Ellen Court, where they saw the community hub in action.
The hub provides a safe and welcoming space where local young people can access support, take part in activities and connect with others in their community. It was a great opportunity to see the positive impact the service is having on young people and the wider neighbourhood.
Coop Street, Wigan
The visit finished at Coop Street in Wigan, where Alison and Matt met with Jason, Area Services Manager, and toured the development.
The scheme includes 27 one-bedroom apartments, communal outdoor space and bike storage. Fully occupied, the development is helping to provide high-quality homes for customers in the area.
Commenting on the visit, Alison said:
“We had a very enjoyable day in the Central region and definitely covered some ground, taking in several new developments across Rochdale, Bury and Wigan. I was impressed by the quality of our new homes and the hard work colleagues across the region are putting into letting them and establishing new communities.
I loved dropping into the new community hub at Ellen Court and really enjoyed hearing about the new service we’ve established there. The scheme was absolutely buzzing, and it was great to catch up with colleagues and meet some of the new customers too.”
Matt added:
“It was great to see the hard work of colleagues in local communities and to better understand some of the challenges our teams face. I am constantly impressed by the commitment and customer focus that colleagues across Great Places demonstrate every day.
The quality of the new homes we build is very impressive, and the work of our Property Services and Customer Services Teams to maintain and improve our homes and neighbourhoods can clearly be seen when we are out and about.”
