Northmoor Community Association (NCA) has celebrated its 25th anniversary, bringing together residents, partners and community leaders to mark a significant milestone in the organisation’s history and recognise its lasting impact on the Northmoor community.
The celebration took place at Northmoor Community Centre, where guests reflected on 25 years of resident-led action, partnership working and community development that has helped shape Northmoor into the thriving neighbourhood it is today.
Established by local residents and supported by Great Places, Northmoor Community Association was founded on the belief that local people should have a leading role in shaping their community. Since then, the organisation has grown into a trusted hub for local people, delivering activities, advice services, volunteering opportunities and community programmes that support residents of all ages.
Over the past quarter of a century, NCA has played a central role in strengthening community connections, improving wellbeing and creating opportunities for local people, while helping to build a strong sense of pride and belonging across Northmoor.
David Callicott, Chair of Northmoor Community Association, said: “For 25 years, Northmoor Community Association has been rooted in the belief that local people are the experts in their own community. Alongside support from Great Places, everything we’ve achieved has been through residents, volunteers, staff and partners working together to make Northmoor a better place to live.
“We’re incredibly proud of what we’ve accomplished and excited about what comes next for our community.”
The anniversary also provided an opportunity to recognise the long-standing partnership between NCA and Great Places. For many years, the two organisations have worked together, alongside local residents and partners, to support the regeneration of Northmoor and create opportunities that help people and communities thrive.
Through significant investment in homes, public spaces and community facilities, Great Places has played a key role in supporting the area’s transformation. Combined with the commitment and leadership of local residents and community organisations, this investment has helped establish Northmoor as a diverse, resilient and successful neighbourhood.
