A Blackpool community garden is blooming thanks to some green-fingered customers and a little help from Great Places.
The garden on the Winnipeg estate had become unmanageable for the former customer group and was taken back under the Great Places garden programme in 2024.
Since then, a group of new customers including Les Barnes and Geoff Boardman, have transformed an overgrown space into a garden blossoming with beautiful flowers and wildlife.
Neighbourhood Services Manager for the area, Jodie Wilson, has worked with the customers to provide equipment, storage and Great Places’ Community Investment team will provide large planters for the customers to fill.
The space has now become a place where customers have come together to enjoy the beautiful surroundings and chat.
