Working together to keep our communities safe

Anti-social behaviour

Everyone deserves to feel safe and comfortable at home. That’s why we take antisocial behaviour (ASB) very seriously and always work closely with partners to put things right.

ASB can take many forms, but at its heart, it’s about behaviour that causes stress or makes people feel unsafe. When these problems go on for a long time, the impact on neighbours can be upsetting, and that’s why we always encourage customers to report concerns early, so we can step in and look for solutions.

Where we can, we focus on working with people to help them change their behaviour. But sometimes issues continue and affect those nearby. When that happens, we will take firm action to protect the wider community.

A real example from one of our neighbourhoods

When local residents began reporting ongoing noise and antisocial behaviour linked to one of our homes, we listened and took action. Working closely with the affected customers and our partners in Environmental Health, we collected detailed evidence to understand how the ASB was impacting the neighbourhood. This led to a Noise Abatement Notice being issued to the person responsible. However, even with ongoing support and clear expectations put in place, their disruptive behaviour continued.

Our local Neighbourhood team continued to keep a close eye on the situation and collected more evidence, which was then carefully reviewed by our Housing and Enforcement team. With the situation not improving and all other options tried, the difficult decision was made to take legal action. This started with an injunction, and after a number of court hearings and a full trial, a possession order was given. The eviction took place in February 2026.

Eviction is always a last resort. In this case, it was the only way to bring a long running issue to an end and help restore peace for the wider community. While the efforts of our Housing & Enforcement and Neighbourhood teams were key in resolving this problem, it would not have been possible without the patience and cooperation of the customers affected. As one neighbour shared afterwards:

“Thank you for your excellent work. Your conscientious approach and the responsibility you took for this case were truly impressive. It’s great to see such dedication – keep up the amazing work.”

If you’re experiencing anti‑social behaviour, please report it to us. Some cases take time, and your reports helps us build a clear picture and keep communities safe.
