Celebrating Energy Saving Week: Home energy support and Winter Warmer giveaway
POSTED: 20/01/2026
It’s Energy Saving Week, and at Great Places we’re committed to helping you stay warm, reduce energy use and save money this winter. With around 80% of a typical home’s energy going toward heating and hot water, costs can rise quickly during the colder months. We’re here to make things a little easier.
Free home energy advice – Personal support for your home
To mark Energy Saving Week, we’re proud to continue our partnership with Groundwork, who offer a free Energy (Green Doctor) service to help you understand and reduce your energy use.
You can receive support over the phone or book a one‑to‑one home visit, lasting around an hour. Your visit includes:
- A full home energy review to identify heat loss and ways to cut bills
- Friendly, practical advice tailored to your home and daily routines
- Follow‑up support to help you put energy‑saving ideas into action
Once your Groundwork visit is complete, Great Places will also arrange for you to receive a free energy‑saving item to help you stay warm and manage energy costs.
Winter Warmer giveaway – Choose an energy‑saving item
To support you further, we have a range of useful winter and energy‑saving items available (subject to availability), including:
- Heavy‑duty draught excluders
- Air fryers
- Slow cookers
- Electric blankets
- Electric rechargeable hot water bottles
- A mixed pack of smaller energy‑efficiency items
After your Groundwork visit, we’ll reserve your chosen item and arrange delivery.
