Highlighting Community Impact and Sustainability Progress
Great Places has published its 2024/25 Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) Report, showcasing a year of significant achievements in affordable housing delivery, customer support, sustainability, and governance.
Despite economic pressures and sector-wide challenges, we’ve remained focused on our mission to provide high-quality, affordable homes and support thriving communities. The report outlines our progress against the Sustainability Reporting Standard for Social Housing and reaffirms our commitment to becoming carbon neutral by 2050.
Key highlights include:
- 726 new affordable homes delivered (social rent, affordable rent, and shared ownership)
- £760,000 in external funding secured to support customer wellbeing and financial resilience
- Over 1,000 customers supported into employment, training, and volunteering
- 85% of new homes built to EPC B standard, with continued investment in retrofit and heat network upgrades
- £2.3 million in social value pledges from supply chain partners
- Customer satisfaction score of 71%, with improvements in repairs, complaints handling, and engagement
The report also highlights the work of the Inclusive Services Team, tenancy coaching, and initiatives like Working Wardrobe and Wybourn Works.

The report also details our governance developments, including board changes and the introduction of a new Growth Committee. Great Places retains its G1/V2 rating from the Regulator of Social Housing.
