At Great Places, we are thrilled to have recently supported a project that brought creativity, collaboration and community spirit to Northmoor.

Local artist Emily, known professionally as Lobster House Studios, has transformed the windows of the Northmoor Community Association (NCA) with a series of colourful artworks that celebrate the heart and soul of the local community. With bold colours and thoughtful designs, the new window displays are already turning heads and sparking conversations.

Located in the heart of our Northmoor anchor neighbourhood, the NCA is one of our most valued community partners. The centre plays a vital role in the lives of local customers, offering affordable spaces for community groups and running essential initiatives like the Northmoor Hub, Community Diner, and Homework Club. From financial advice and benefits support to online learning and form-filling assistance, the NCA is a lifeline for hundreds of people.

The window makeover is more than just a visual upgrade, it’s a symbol of the energy and resilience of the Northmoor community. It also reflects our ongoing commitment at Great Places to go the extra mile in supporting thriving, inclusive neighbourhoods.

David Kay, Centre Manager at NCA, shared his thoughts on the transformation:

“The artwork done by Emily and supported by Great Places has brightened up the front of the centre and the hub, creating a more welcoming and engaging space. We’ve had lots of positive comments from the local community and it highlights the offer here at the NCA.”

We’re proud to have played a part in this creative collaboration and look forward to continuing our work with the NCA and other partners to build places where people are proud to live.
