We’re delighted to share that The Bread and Butter Thing, an initiative that Great Places is proud to support, has now relocated to The Welcome Café in Knutsford, bringing its fantastic service to even more local families.
This award‑winning initiative helps households access affordable, high‑quality food while tackling food waste. Each week, surplus produce is sourced from supermarkets, farms and manufacturers, meaning every shop offers something a little different.
What you can expect
For just £8.50 per week, members receive around £35 worth of groceries, including fresh fruit and vegetables, chilled items and cupboard staples such as pasta and cereal.
Additional options also include larger family bags for even greater value, add-ons like meat or bakery products and seasonal extras depending on availability.
