Great Places’ Assets Team has been recognised with Highly Commended in the Retrofit Project of the Year category at the 2025 HVR Awards, thanks to its work on the Richmond Park Heat Network upgrade in Sheffield.
This recognition is a great achievement and highlights the power of collaboration across our teams and with our external partners.
The Richmond Park Heat Network upgrade is one of the Assets Team’s proudest recent projects. With £1.6 million in funding secured through the Government’s Heat Network Efficiency Scheme (HNES), the project has improved the communal heating system for 299 homes.
Working with our partners at FairHeat, the project focused on upgrading existing infrastructure rather than replacing it – a smart and sustainable approach that’s already delivering results.
Key improvements include:
This success was only possible thanks to the collaboration across Great Places. The project brought together colleagues from Neighbourhoods, Assets, IT, Financial Resilience. Tenancy Coaches, Comms and The Hub alongside our external partners at FairHeat.
The project is a great example of what we can achieve when we work together across teams, with a shared focus on improving outcomes for our customers.
A huge thank you to everyone involved in making this project a success, and congratulations to the Assets Team on the well-deserved recognition at the HVR Awards.
