Residents in the Whitefield area of Nelson came together for a community action day aimed at tackling local concerns including fly-tipping, illegal parking and nuisance issues.
The event was organised by Great Places in partnership with Lancashire Police, the local authority and other local agencies to engage with residents, encourage pride in the neighbourhood and support positive community action.
As part of the day, a community skip was provided to help residents dispose of unwanted items responsibly, while refreshments and vouchers were also available.
Colleagues from Great Places’ Employment Support and Community Investment teams attended to offer advice and support, and information about the Financial Resilience Team was shared with customers facing cost of living pressures.
Around 30 customers took part throughout the day, using the opportunity to speak with partner agencies, raise concerns, discuss local issues and share ideas for improving the area.
The event highlighted the value of partnership working and community engagement in helping to create cleaner, safer neighbourhoods.
