Great Places has taken a major step forward in its plans to deliver more affordable homes in Stockport, with a planning application submitted for a proposed 152-home development in Woodley.
Working in partnership with Anwyl Partner Projects, the proposed scheme would deliver 152 affordable homes on land off Gravel Bank Road, helping to meet growing demand for affordable housing across the borough.
The planning application has been submitted to Stockport Metropolitan Borough Council and relates to a 23.8-acre site identified within the emerging Stockport Local Plan as a suitable location for new housing. If approved, all homes on the development would be affordable.
Great Places is already delivering more than 350 affordable homes across Stockport through a range of tenures. The Woodley scheme would build on that investment and help more local people access high-quality, affordable homes.

The proposed development is being brought forward by Anwyl Partner Projects, the specialist affordable housing arm of Anwyl, with Great Places as the intended Registered Provider partner. The plans include a mix of homes designed to respond to local housing need and support wider housing growth across Stockport.

Subject to planning approval, the first homes could be handed over to Great Places in late 2027.
