Great Places’ and Kellen Homes’ plans for Riverpark, a development of 498 homes in Newton Heath, East Manchester have been approved by Manchester City Council.
The new development, built on the site of the former Riverpark Trading Estate, will transform the brownfield site into a vibrant new neighbourhood. Almost half of the homes will be affordable, helping to meet the city’s ambitious target of delivering at least 10,000 truly affordable and council homes by 2032.
The development will include 221 two, three and four-bedroom houses and 277 apartments, with a number of specially adapted homes. Plans also feature a sustainable travel cycle lane along Riverpark Road and improved links to Philips Park, supporting greener travel and better connectivity for residents.
Significant demolition and enabling works have already taken place to prepare the site for construction.
