This means that the Great Places-led partnership will be able to continue to support over 350 people in their journeys away from Homelessness.

Over the past six years, our collective efforts have not only shaped local delivery but have also impacted wider practice informing commissioners, inspiring service providers, and contributing to system both across Greater Manchester and nationally.
Collectively,  the two programmes have supported more than 600 people, helping over 490 people into their own homes and facilitating moves of another 50 people into alternative support pathways that met their current needs.

Programme Lead Mike Hughes said he was delighted to have secured the funding. He said: “This new opportunity allows us to build on that strong foundation. Over the next four years we will continue to innovate, apply our learning, and achieve our shared ambitions in tackling homelessness.

“The programmes support the Mayor’s Live Well agenda and the wider Housing First efforts to ensure people have access to quality housing across Greater Manchester.
“We have laid some very solid foundations over the last six years and both partnerships have made a huge impact across all 10 boroughs.
“The contract win is down to a lot of hard work by a lot of people, and I would like to say a huge thank you to everyone who has been a part of the journey. Our front line staff have a huge beneficial effect on the lives of the people we support, they are really making a difference every day.”
Stephen Broughton, Commissioning Project Manager at the Greater Manchester Combined Authority, said: “The new funding allows for the programmes to build on the strong foundations built over the last six years.
“The partnerships evidenced a willingness to push boundaries and further innovate to strengthen the partnerships that have evolved through Housing First.”
“The Greater Manchester partnership has been externally evaluated as one of the strongest HF projects in Great Britain; one that stays true to the model’s principles and has person-centred support at its core.
“The partnership is demonstrating that the model as a concept can work on a regional level and we look forward to seeing how the services evolves over the next four years.”
