Great Places has completed on contracts with housebuilder Strata to partner in delivering 53 much-needed affordable homes at Lutterworth Drive in Doncaster.

The development will provide high-quality homes for social rent, helping to meet local housing needs and create a vibrant, sustainable community. The scheme includes a mix of one, two, and three-bedroom properties, including bungalows, semi-detached and terraced homes, all designed to meet national space standards. A central green space and a safe, single-access road will ensure the development promotes wellbeing and a neighbourly environment.

Supported by Homes England Strategic Partnership 2 funding, the project reflects our commitment to working in partnership to accelerate the delivery of affordable housing across the region.

Commenting on the new agreement, Nick Gornall, our Director of Growth, said:

This scheme represents an excellent example of how partnership-led delivery can accelerate affordable housing across the region. Our partnership with Strata will deliver 53 much-needed affordable homes for social rent in Doncaster. The development will provide high-quality, accessible homes that support a range of needs within the community. We look forward to working closely with Strata as the project progresses.

The homes will incorporate sustainability features that exceed 2021 Part L Building Regulations, including high-efficiency gas boilers, photovoltaic panels, and Waste Water Heat Recovery Systems, helping to reduce carbon emissions and improve energy performance.

Construction will begin following final preparatory work, with both partners committed to delivering a high-quality, inclusive development that blends seamlessly with the established character of Lutterworth Drive and neighbouring communities.

This development forms part of Great Places’ wider ambition to deliver thousands of affordable homes across the North West and South Yorkshire, supporting local communities and creating places people are proud to call home.
