Great Places has been awarded over £1 million in capital grant funding through the Government’s Heat Network Efficiency Scheme (HNES).

This funding will support significant improvement works at our Tulloch Court and Elk View Court (pictured) heat networks in Blackpool, which together serve 94 residents. The investment will enable us to:

These upgrades will enhance the reliability and efficiency of heating for our residents, reduce energy consumption, and contribute to our wider sustainability goals.

The HNES scheme, funded by the Department for Energy Security and Net Zero and delivered by Gemserv, supports the decarbonisation of heat networks across England and Wales. Round 8 of the scheme has awarded a total of £7 million to 49 projects, helping to deliver cleaner, more affordable heating to over 11,000 residents.

Commenting on the award, Lisa Sharples our Energy and Heat Networks Manager said:

We’re delighted to receive this funding, which will make a real difference to the lives of our customers in Blackpool. These improvements will not only enhance comfort and reliability but also support our commitment to energy efficiency and the transition to Net Zero.
