Fibre Broadband Installation Work Across Our Buildings

POSTED: 16/03/2026

Great Places is working in partnership with several fibre broadband providers to upgrade the broadband connections in many of our buildings. This work involves installing new FibretothePremises (FTTP) technology, often referred to as “Full Fibre.”

Full Fibre uses fibreoptic cables that run directly into homes. This is a big improvement on traditional copper broadband connections and is designed to give our customers faster, more reliable internet for years to come.

What this means for you

Once installation work in your building is complete, Full Fibre broadband will be available for you to order through your preferred internet provider. This upgrade won’t happen automatically—you’ll need to contact your chosen provider and ask to switch to a Full Fibre package.

You’ll still have a full choice of providers, and prices vary depending on who you choose. In most cases, Full Fibre packages cost around the same as current broadband deals, and some customers may even save money.

Benefits of Full Fibre

Full Fibre brings a number of everyday improvements, including:

Checking availability

Once work in your building is finished, you will be contacted by the provider responsible for installation in your building and you can check whether Full Fibre is available at your home by using the provider’s online checker.

For example, if your building has been upgraded by Openreach, you can check availability here:

www.openreach.com/fibre-checker

If another fibre partner is working in your building, they will provide their own postcode or address checker.

We’re here to help

We understand that broadband is an essential part of everyday life, and we want you to be confident about what this upgrade means. We’ll continue to share updates as work progresses across our buildings.

If you have any questions about the installation process or what to expect, please get in touch with the Customer Hub and we’ll be happy to help.
