On Friday 1 August, Great Places teamed up with Onward to host the Broughton Bikes event at Salford Gymnastics Centre, bringing the local community together for a day filled with new bikes, repairs and healthy living advice.
Thanks to the social value partnership with SUEZ, 20 refurbished bikes were donated to local children, supporting families to access a fun and healthy activity at no extra cost. SUEZ’s “bike doctor” was also on hand, offering free repairs and MOT-style checks, for example, one customer was able to get a brand-new chain fitted on the spot.
As well as Great Places, Onward and SUEZ, Salford Council was also in attendance, providing health checks, cycling route advice, and healthy eating information.
Not only was the event a great success, but it highlighted the fantastic impact partnership working can have on the community. We’re proud to work alongside organisations like Onward, SUEZ, and Salford Council to create meaningful opportunities for our customers.
