Great Places social value programme has helped to make the lives of those on the Greater Manchester Housing First a little easier.

Organisations who carry out services for Great Places agree to deliver a social value investment to our tenants through our service networks.

And these have been of massive benefit to Greater Manchester Housing First, for which Great Places is the accountable body.

Firstly, contractor Moffat & Riley who install kitchens and bathrooms across Great Places neighbourhoods and developments, kindly agreed to deliver a handyperson service to GMHF tenants.

The service is designed to help GMHF tenants to carry out practical tasks around their home that fall outside of their landlord’s repairs services.

Also, GMHF has been able to provide £1,500 in fuel vouchers, thanks to the Sureserve Foundation, plus a further £800, sponsored by Trowers, through their social value commitment made via Great Places’ Legal Framework.

Of this money, £500 will be used in Christmas gift vouchers and an additional £300 that will be used for care packages, emergency food and phones as needed in the coming weeks

The vouchers were distributed to GMHF tenants most in need so they can stay safe, warm and secure during the festive period.

Thanks to all the organisations who have been able to make such a generous contribution to the GMHF pilot that will make such a massive difference.
