Our social value programme is helping to improve lives across our communities thanks to the organisations we work with.

When we tender our various workstreams, we place significant emphasis on social value, whilst maintaining value for money and quality.

This has had a positive impact across all our services, creating opportunities in our communities and particularly at this time of year, spreading a little cheer after a difficult year.

One such partner is Trowers and Hamlins, who we work with as part of our Legal Services Framework.

The organisation donated £5,220 which has been distributed between nine different projects, which will benefit almost 300 adults and 80 children.

The funding shared among schemes will provide Christmas dinners on Christmas day, turn shared gardens into winter wonderlands and provide gift vouchers to families who may not have been able to buy presents this year.

Stephanie Cameron, Great Places’ Social Value Specialist, said:

The social value partnerships like this one with Trowers has made wonderful things happen in 2020, and we’d like to thank all of our supply chain for making it possible.

Suzanne Benson, partner and head of Trowers & Hamlins’ Manchester office, added:

We are proud to support Great Places Housing Group’s Christmas campaign to help families struggling in the run up to Christmas.

At the end of a difficult year for everybody being there for each other and helping wherever we can in our communities underpins the true meaning of social value and it is something that is high on our agenda at Trowers.

It’s brilliant to hear that our support has made a difference to so many people across the North of the region in the run up to the holiday period.
