Our joint venture Forge New Homes has secured planning permission for its second development on the site of the old Bolsover hospital, near Chesterfield.
The development of 58 high-quality three-and four-bedroom homes follows on from the launch of their inaugural development, The Hedgerows, at nearby Pilsley, which is currently open for sales and will be welcoming its first residents to site later this year.
A mix of semi-detached and detached homes will provide beautiful spaces for families in the Bolsover area, surrounded by stunning Derbyshire countryside. Famous for its castle, the town also offers a local junior school recently rated ‘Good’ by Ofsted, as well as being within commuting distance of both Sheffield and Chesterfield.
Andy Beattie, Project Director for Forge New Homes said:
“We knew as soon as we saw this location that it would offer a wonderful place to live for our buyers, which is always our priority.
“Together with a range of attractive, as well as practical, homes on offer, we’re confident that this site will appeal to many buyers, who can feel safe in the knowledge that when buying a Forge new home, they are getting quality as standard.”
Nick Atkin, Chief Executive of Yorkshire Housing and Chair of Forge New Homes, added:
“We’re delighted to have the green light on our second site in Bolsover, another significant milestone for Forge New Homes in addressing our region’s housing need. Now planning is approved, we look forward to getting construction underway and making a difference.
“We are also keen to work in partnership with other public and private sector organisations to participate in project delivery and would welcome contact and discussions with anyone that can help us to access sites or otherwise help us with the delivery of our new homes.”
Forge New Homes is looking to start work on the site in the Autumn, with the first plots being available during the second half of next year.
