Our Sustainable Assets Team continues to be making steady progress through our annual improvement works plan.

Work at Clifford Court in Stockport is progressing well and the project is being managed by K Hussain.  This is a scheme made up of 87 flats, spread across 10 blocks providing both sheltered and rented accommodation, thus K is working closely with Jane Sandbach, Alisa McCann and Gill Thomson to consult customers and deliver agreed works. We’ve completed all work to the communal lounge, kitchen and the new office for our Independence and Wellbeing Team who provide support to sheltered housing customers at this scheme. We’ve also completed upgrade work to the communal laundry room and installed new and modern glass panels to staircases and fitted new communal fire doors and suspended ceilings to all floors in the main block.  In the New Year the focus for the project team will be to finish decoration in the main block and install new flat entrance doors across both the main block and all general need blocks, as well as complete ongoing external work at Clifford Court; a new bin store and scooter store, and boundary wall works to new car park area.

On the other side of the Pennines we are due to complete works on 21 Moorgate, one of our apartment blocks located in Rotherham, in the second week in January. Work started with K Humphries & Sons Roofing Ltd in September on a £244k project to re-cover the existing main roof and balconies of the building to prevent water ingress at the property, along with new patio doors and windows to affected properties. Also included within the works schedule, overseen by John Chesworth and John Rosler, was the replacement of the existing water downpipes and guttering for a larger diameter system to cope with the increased volume of water.
