A £2.5 million property improvement plan will see nearly 450 homes in Salford get an upgrade.
Great Places Housing Group recently appointed local contractor Connolly’s to carry out the work, which will start in June.
With some properties being carried over from the last financial year, a total of 570 homes will be improved over the next 12 months. This will include improvements to:
- 375 kitchens
- 400 bathrooms
- 18 windows
- 86 external doors
The tender process saw seven contractors submit tenders, and a team made up of representatives from Great Places’ Assets, Neighbourhoods and Procurement teams interviewed all of them to complete the evaluation.
Mike Glennon, Salford Regional Manager for Great Places, said: “This is really good news for tenants in the Salford area and the work shows Great Places' commitment to continuing to invest in its properties and improve neighbourhoods.”
The winning bid also produced a saving to Great Places of over £500,000 against the approved budget.
