This week (14 May–18 May) is Deaf Awareness Week.
To raise awareness, Great Places’ Graphic Designer Tim Hanley is taking over our social media accounts. Every day this week, we will be posting a new video in which Tim provides some helpful advice for communicating with those with loss of hearing. This includes the BSL alphabet, useful phrases and tips for communicating clearly. You can see the first of these videos below, and the rest through any of our social media channels – Twitter, Facebook or LinkedIn.
Great Places is committed to embedding the core principles of equality, diversity and inclusion in everything we do – as an employer, a service provider, and a community anchor. You can read our formal EDI Strategy – which recognises the work we already do and how we can improve our services moving forwards – here.
