Cube Great Places Ltd, the private sector arm of Great Places Housing Group, has secured planning consent on a Levenshulme site, which will see 31 new homes built.
Cube had the housing scheme approved unanimously by Manchester City Council last week.
The scheme is at the prominent Kingsway pub site, at the junction of the Kingsway and Moseley Rd in Levenshulme, featuring high spec apartments for private rent and much needed family houses for sale.
Ben Townsend, Head of Private Sector Development for Great Places, said: “We are really pleased and can’t wait to get started in the spring.
“We worked closely with planners, ward councillors and local residents to ensure we designed the appropriate scheme for the site.
“The apartments are a good size and include two double bedrooms and two bathrooms. The five storey building steps down to four and three storeys as it transitions to the contemporary new build family houses.
“These family homes feature four bedrooms over two storeys and the roof space, with generous front and back gardens and two off road parking spaces.
“This is a landmark building and a gateway site. It is really exciting news for us.”
Building on the £5.4million scheme is scheduled to begin in the spring, finishing in summer of 2019.
Great Places also hope that the scheme will create employment, training and apprenticeship opportunities.
The homes will be sold, let and managed by Plumlife on behalf of Cube.
