Water, water everywhere ...

In the north west of England, we’re blessed with plenty of rain. But processing water so that it’s fit to drink has an impact on the environment – the carbon emissions generated in pumping, cleaning and sanitising every litre is estimated to be 0.00029kg.

At Great Places, we are encouraging our staff and residents to use less water.

Over the last year and we have given out over 1,000 water savers to residents, saving them about 500,000 litres of water every year – leading to lower bills and reduced carbon footprints.

All new residents get advice on saving water when they sign up with us. To start saving water and money, check out our water efficiency tips, here.

Great Places has also teamed up with Eaga and wish to offer all residents Showersmarts.

These clever little gadgets can reduce water used, but they only suitable for a small number of showers.  Please click here for more information on whether you could use one.
