Banking
Many tenants do not have a bank account and this can cost you money!
It is estimated that having a bank account can save you about £5 a week as they let you take advantage of money-saving discounts, for example, paying bills by direct debit.
They are also a safe place to store any money you receive, and they allow you to get money from a cash machine or pay for purchases in shops and online with a cash card.
Great Places has an agreement with the Royal Bank of Scotland (RBS) that helps tenants to open a bank account.
To open a bank account, you will need proof of your identity. If you don’t have a passport or driving licence, you can provide a copy of your tenancy agreement and a benefits letter. Go to your local branch, tell them you're a tenant of Great Places and show them your tenancy agreement.
