I’d like to make a regular commitment - and make a big difference

Be a board member

The Great Places Group Board meets six times a year. They work at the highest level to establish a clear vision and focus on leading and directing the group. Of the thirteen members, two are residents.

Join the Tenant Services Committee

The Tenant Services Committee (TSC) is a resident-led decision making forum that plays a key role for Great Places. The TSC meets six times a year, usually last for a couple of hours.

The TSC is made up of a majority of residents and this group has the responsibility for scrutinising our services and holding us to account. A package of training and support is available for all members.

Get involved with our funding panel

The funding panel allocates the tenant dividend and the environmental bidding, which are funds that any tenant can apply for to change their life or environment in a positive way. If you’re interested in deciding where that money should go, the Funding Panel might be for you.

Become a tenant inspector

Tenant inspectors check we use our voicemails as we say we do and that all our tenants get the same service at our offices.

They also do more hands-on work such as spot checks on our empty properties to make sure they are of the highest standard when we let them out again.

They also interview other tenants either by phone or in person to find out what their experiences have been like.  When the inspectors find areas for improvement, we make sure these are reported to the TSC who make sure that improvements are made.

Become a member of SHOUT!, our young persons’ panel

Shout is a group for 16 to 25 years olds taking part in online discussions about the services and issues that affect young people. Members are set up with all the kit needed to take part in the online discussions and these take place at times to suit Shout members.

Join the Service Improvement Club

The Service Improvement Club members is made up of residents and staff working together to improve services to check we do what we say we will. You will also review policies and procedures and make sure all our services are the best they can be for customers.

The club covers a wide variety of service areas, including repairs and maintenance, anti-social behaviour and complaints. You can choose to get involved by attending a meeting or virtually – by computer or post - through the sounding board. If you are interested, let us know and we will get in touch when we have an opportunity for you.

Meet our contractors

We know repairs are the most important area for our tenants, so that’s why we arrange for you to meet with our contractors to discuss how we can improve the service you receive. Come and share your views.
