Come to a local area forum
Great Places operates across a wide geographical area, but we know how important it is for you to get a local service that meets your needs.
Our local area forums happen near you, four times a year.
Hosted by your local neighbourhood staff, it is a good way to meet the people who work for Great Places, and share your experiences of the service we provide to you.
At local area forums we ask residents what they think about policies and procedures and any changes to services. Where it’s helpful, we invite people from other organisations to speak, too.
We share our performance information at these meetings, so you can see how we’re doing – for example, how long it takes us to relet empty homes, what proportion of residents reporting complaints have been satisfied with the response they have had from us. You can also see this information here.
Do you have an opinion on our gardening services, window cleaning, anti-social behaviour issues, local repairs or scheme inspections? If so, we want to hear it. Come to your local area forum and tell us what you think.
Be a community rep
Do you fancy making a difference in your community? Have you got some get-up and go? Want to be the eyes and ears in your area, sheltered or supported scheme?
What about doing area/scheme walkabouts with your neighbourhood co-ordinator? Well that’s what community reps do.
Be a green champion
Have you turned over a green leaf? This is a great way you can start to make a difference in your home and community.
We’re looking for green champions to work in their local communities. We will give you training on how to reduce environmental impact and it will be your job to help make this happen where you live.
Attend a fun day or community activity
We arrange many community activities to make sure there is plenty to do near to you.
It’s a great way to meet staff and neighbours as well as an opportunity for us to consult you on your views. At many of these events, other agencies will be there to give you advice, support and guidance.
We arrange over 150 community events every year, ranging from summer fun days, to neighbours’ day, community planting, well-being events … the list is endless.
