  • Community centre opens its doors for locals

Great Places Housing Group, a housing provider which manages over 15,000 homes in the north west, is to hold an open day at a community centre in Oldham to promote local services and the work of the centre.

The group is joining forces with the NHS, the local fire service and other housing groups Regenda, Aksa and First Choice Homes to provide advice and information on health, fire safety, housing, welfare rights, money and finance.

Local residents will also have the opportunity to find out about sewing and food hygiene courses, first aid, becoming a security guard, getting a fork lift truck licence, learning DIY and taking an interpreters’ course.

A bouncy castle, buffet food, henna painting and a football session run by Oldham Athletic Football Club, makes this an event for all the family.
