Key facts

We count the transformation of Northmoor, Longsight, as one of our most significant achievements
Apply for housing in Manchester
Great Places owns and manages a total of 2,360 homes in the Manchester City Council area and our head office is in West Didsbury.

Our flagship projects in the area include New Islington in East Manchester, where we are a key development partner. Our developments at the nationally-important regeneration site are the award-winning Islington Square and Guest Street plus, most recently, The Guts. Nearby in Beswick, we recently completed a development of striking, contemporary family homes in Palmerston Street.

We also count the transformation of Northmoor, Longsight, with the council and many other project partners, going back more than a decade, as one of our most significant achievements.

In consultation with local people and involving artists, we regenerated the streets, creating European-style ‘home zones’, developed innovative new homes and refurbished many more, as well as carrying out many community development initiatives.

Elsewhere in Manchester, we have supported housing schemes for service users with many different needs, including young parents and adults with mental health needs and alcohol problems.

We have flats for older people at several sites, a state-of-the-art Extra Care scheme called The Byrons in Blackley, many more developments of family homes and we support community initiatives including Levenshulme Inspire and the Chorlton Nutty Knitters.
